The Blessing of Numbers 6:24–26
God’s blessing is more than provision, it’s His joy, approval, and loving attention upon His children. Numbers 6:24–26 reminds us that He watches over us with care, not out of obligation, but from boundless love.
“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”
Rhema:
This blessing is more than just nice words we hear at church. It is a picture of how God feels about us. When He says He will bless and keep us, it means He will provide for us and protect us.
When the Bible says “make His face shine upon thee,” it is like saying God is smiling at you. It shows His joy, approval, and delight in you. His smile is the only approval we truly need, and when He looks at us this way, our hearts find peace.
The phrase “lift up His countenance” means God is looking at us closely, paying attention to what is happening in our lives. It is like a loving Father watching over His child with care and focus. He is not far away. He is right here with us, seeing what we go through, knowing us completely, and loving us deeply.
Reflection:
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 121 reminds us that our help comes from the Lord, who never sleeps or takes a break from watching over us. His care is constant, and His favor is something we can always count on.
Reminder:
God does not bless us because we meet certain conditions. He blesses us because He loves us. His love has no limits, and His peace is a gift nothing in this world can replace.
Proverbs 3:26 says,
“For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.”
